Thanks guys! I hope to get more (better) shots if I am able to visit again next year.

Yeah, the view from the Expo Line going through Metrotown is a really cool experience now.

It's true but my favourite section right now might be New West between Columbia station and the train yard, as there are now so many buildings jammed right up against the guideway, including the new Anvil Centre.

part 1 is ok, involves his plane trip from phoenix, he uses some ap or site which gets him cheap air fares... so he randomly decides to come to vancouver his first trip to canada, stays at lonsdale quay

Good editing/video quality. Lonsdale Quay hotel is as crappy inside as I feared.

Also that steamed bun looked so good.

Fire Destroys Kerrisdale Strip Mall

I recorded a Fire that Destroyed a Vancouver Kerrisdale Strip Mall June 22, 2017
On-Scene: 50-FireFighters (yellowhat), 5-Captains (redhat), 1-Assistant Chief (whitehat), 1-Battalion Chief (whitecoat), 1-Fire Investigator (whitehat), Vehicles: 3-Aerial Hose & Ladder Trucks, 9-Firehose hand lines, 2-Heavy Pump Engines, 3-Rescue Trucks, 4-Support Units, 7-Police Units, 2-Ambulances.

7-Businesses Destroyed: Tam's Custom Tailor, Sienna Fashions, Image Hair Design, On the Go Fashions, MagiCream, Petit C Nail Salon, Papa John's Pizza. Business Damaged: Salvation Army Thrift Store.
Fire started June 22, 2017 at 8:10pm and was still raging at 12:15am lasted 8 hours.
Location: 2001 41 Avenue & Maple Street.

4:20 (9;12pm) thick smoke forces crowd to retreat //
4:51 (9;15pm) the first of three Aerial Ladder Trucks deploys telescopic ladder over burning roof //
6:27 (9;19pm) Assistant Chief (AC-whitehat), Battalion Chief (B2-whitehat) holding Personnel Log //
7:12 (9;31pm) Battalion Chief (whitecoat) coordinates with BC Hydro Lineman (orangecoat) //
7:50 (9;41pm) First Aerial Ladder Truck soaks building roof causing heavy smoke to blanket area //
9:19 (9;50pm) Support Unit deploys powerful Light Towers //
9:30 (10;00pm) crowd watches at rear of burning building, second story apartment is visible //
9:45 (10;01pm) Pump Engine positioned at rear provides high pressure water and foam //
10:19 (10;04pm) Battalion Chief, Fire Investigator and Captain observe side of building //
11:35 (10;16pm) 2-Assistant Chiefs and 2-Battalion Chiefs discuss plans for third Aerial Ladder //
12:02 (10;29pm) FireFighters protect 3 parked cars and keep cinder-block firewall cool //
12:27 (10;32pm) Dripping flames of roofing tar is seen falling inside //
13:08 (10;33pm) Fire Investigator recording evidence of suspected fire origin between walls //
14:19 (10;35pm) BC Hydro Lineman arrives to cut powerand allow Ladder Truck to maneuver //
16:21 (11;05pm) third Aerial Ladder Truck arrives to battle blaze from rear of building //
16:51 (11;09pm) BC Hydro Lineman cuts remaining power cables //
17:47 (11;16pm) The lights from two Aerial Ladders at front are visible //
19:01 (11;28pm) 2-Heavy Hose Lines and Aerial Hose attack from rear //
19:20 (11;35pm) 2-Heavy Hose Lines and 1-Medium Hose Line attack at front //
19:40 (11;42pm) Two Aerial Ladder Trucks at front battle huge flames above shops //
21:49 (11;46pm) Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) can be heard when FireFighter doesn't move //
22:48 (11;47pm) FireFighter with medium hose blasts through front window to battle ceiling area //
24:36 (next day) 7-Businesses destroyed, 1-Apartment destroyed, Thrift Store damaged //

I recorded the first 3 hours of the Fire and posted this 25 min video to my ViewFinder Vancouver YouTube Channel describing the FireFighters response.

Canada Day 150 at Canada Place video

It was a perfect Canada Day to celebrate our 150th Anniversary of Confederation at Canada Place. Glad I took the time to see the lit Olympic Cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza and share in the Canadian Spirit, music, food and fireworks. I must admit walking The Canadian Trail around Canada Place at the Port of Vancouver was difficult with the huge crowds. Arriving by Transit was the best plan but leaving after the Fireworks was another story.

I recorded this event and posted the 9 min video to my ViewFinder Vancouver YouTube Channel.
