Thanks - is there not going to be any excavation/underground parking with this one? It almost looks like rebar is being set in place already.

Guys, this one might be officially under construction by SSP standards, as well. Look at the tower crane base I captured tonight!

Notice more and more here in SF how many construction workers, crane operators, and other essential workers on a building site are often glued to their smartphones. Not a crisis situation yet but surely will be if the level of projects and distractions continues at this feverish pace. I live right off Folsom downtown and the presence of cement trucks, dump trucks and other equipment carriers is pretty much 24/7 now.

The original plan was for 432 off-street parking spaces in four underground levels. The developer noted that:

Quote:
Planning Code Section 827(d)(8)(A) requires that parking
be provided below grade. The proposed project includes four levels of below
grade parking. Because of the slope of the project site, some parking is
technically above grade but meets the standards of section 827(d)(8) regarding
sloping sites.
In 2009, they reduced the plan to 238 spaces, so maybe they removed an underground level or two.

With the reduction in parking and the site's natural slope, they may not have to excavate too much, especially at the northern end of the site.

232 parking spots is still an enormous number, though the site is quite large. i'm guessing maybe 60 per floor? this is another one of those situations where one wonders if it would make sense just to go mechanical and do it all on one tall floor.

Tower crane going up! Captured from a zoomed in still of the TB Tower Oxblue webcam. I will request a move to the construction board.

That view will have a forest of tower cranes for quite some time as the Rincon Hill and the Transbay areas are built out.

The thread title should also be updated to 399 Fremont. I don't know why it is still 375 Fremont which is clearly wrong.

It's not clearly wrong - there are two addresses to the project - 375 is the low-rise and 399 is the high-rise. They are being built together.

That may be true, but the thread title is referencing the tower portion when it says 400ft. The title should be changed to the tower address considering that is the major portion of the project and what most people seem to be interested in.

It is also the address that the architecture firm (SCB) uses on its website

I couldn't get too close to this one, they got the area sealed off pretty good. Nevertheless, the tower crane is pretty much all set up and excavation is progressing as evident by soil being loaded onto the dump trucks.

So they are almost done digging the hole and they've poured part of the foundation:

So, so much rebar:

This is the other end of the site -- the low-rise section -- with Lumina's cranes in the background:

And this is the new neighbor next door, which I think turned out great (with Block 6's crane in the background):

Edit: Ha, just noticed the unfortunate timing for that one construction worker in the second picture.

According to PMA, a big concrete pour took place over the weekend:

Quote:
Saturday was monumental for 399 Fremont- 12 hr mat slab foundation pour of tower, totaling 4,500 yd3 of concrete or roughly 500 trucks!

That's a big pour for a 400 ft tower. 4,500 cubic yards = about 14.8 million pounds of base when it's all said and done.
