CHARLEVOIX, QC - on the road

In the Charlevoix region, mountain and sea combine to create a setting that can only be described as spellbinding. A succession of capes flank the coast; charming villages nestle on mountainsides and in peaceful coves.

Along the road, fertile fields are interspersed with stunning glimpses of backcountry peaks. A resort destination by excellence, the Charlevoix region combines year-round quality accommodations with an extraordinary range of outdoor and cultural activities.

A land blessed by nature ,Charlevoix can thank a huge meteorite that fell to Earth some 350 million years ago, on what is today the site of the village Les Éboulements, for its magnificent geography. In 1988, a large part of the region was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The Charlevoix region, located in Quebec, includes parts of the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River and the Laurentian Mountains region of the Canadian Shield.

Well it isn't the atlantic yet. We are in the St-Lawrence estuary.
But it does looks like of the ocean there, no doubt...like having brack water and a maritime weather.
