When 3 Civic completes in the next few weeks or so, it WILL be the third tallest building in Greater Vancouver.

Technically fourth:

1. Shangri-La
2. Trump
3. Solo-Altus

But in reality it is currently the 5th since Brentwood 1 has already topped out and is taller than 3 Civic, despite the interior not being complete.

Sorry, meant to write 3rd tallest completed building, in the next couple of weeks when it does actually complete.

The three I listed are all complete...

It will be the fourth tallest 'complete' building, or the 5th tallest including un-complete buildings.

We are now officially up to 24 towers over 150 metres with at least some form of height confirmation.

You can see it on the first page but here is the list again:

Vancouver
Burnaby
Surrey
New Westminster
Coquitlam

Current Position --- Name --- Height in M --- Status

1 --- Gilmore Place --- 214.8 --- Proposed
2 --- Living Shangri-La --- 196.9 --- Complete
3 --- GEC Education Centre --- 191 --- Proposed
4 --- Trump Tower --- 187.8 --- Complete
5 --- Brentwood One --- 186.5 --- U/C
6 --- Brentwood Two --- 186.5 --- U/C
7 --- Brentwood Three --- 182 --- U/C
8 --- Pier West --- 180 --- Proposed
9 --- The Butterfly --- 178.6 --- Proposed
10 --- Solo District, Altus --- 175.6 --- U/C
11 --- 6000 Mckay (SS5) --- 172 --- Proposed
12 --- One Burrard Place --- 167.6 --- U/C
13 --- 1133 Melville --- 167.6 --- Proposed
14 --- 3 Civic Plaza --- 164 --- U/C
15 --- 601 Beach Crescent --- 163 --- Proposed
16 --- 567 Clarke+Como --- 162 --- U/C
17 --- Highpoint --- 161 --- Proposed
18 --- Lougheed Centre, T1 --- 158.5 --- Proposed
19 --- 6525-6585 Sussex Avenue --- 158.5 --- Proposed
20 --- Hotel Georgia --- 157.6 --- Complete
21 --- 1445 W. Georgia --- 157 --- Proposed
22 --- The Sovereign --- 155.8 --- Complete
23 --- Burquitlam Park --- 154.6 --- Proposed
24 --- Vancouver House --- 151.5 --- U/C

As for a note, the Coquitlam and Burnaby diagrams need some TLC.

Vancouver is a disgrace: can't even compete with its own suburb cities. In 15 years' time perhaps we won't see any black lettering in this list anymore.

How come? This isn't a U/C list for skyscrapers taller than 150 metres.....Vancouver's towers will still be here, albeit in a different order, and not as visible compared to it's suburbs (obviously).

I think he mistook it for a top 25 list rather than an over 150m list.
The Vancouver towers will still be on the list (not bumped off it) just outnumbered and lower down the list.

I don't like that the tallest building in Brentwood is going to be on the edge of the neighbourhood. It's going to unbalance the skyline.

It'll be downhill from the others towers, so won't necessarily be too dominant.

Brentwood still has plenty of developable sites left to land something taller than 214 metres.

IMO, height isn't everything. First, look at many beautiful cities that scarcely go over 100 meters - even then, exceptionally. Rio, Stockholm, Copenhagen.....
True, I'd love to see a couple around 185m - 225m+ right downtown (esp Burrard at Georgia) to identify the centre of the city.
But so what if the suburban towers are taller? This would stand out and, contribute to Vancouver uniqueness.
It's a city that pioneers urbanism in many ways and going against the grain isn't necessarily bad. Quality street aesthetics; lighting; mini-parks, beauty: these help make a city great.

Would be a great pinnacle to the Skyline.

Anyways, list on the first page is updated!

Cheers

It's weird that it has any! Surrey has so much vacant and underutilized land. The only places that make sense to build up at this point are those immediately around skytrain stations, and even then I can't imagine the economics make much sense.
