Initially proposed in 2009 where they were initially two proposed towers at a height of 140.4m and 130.9m. This proposal has now transformed into a behemoth of a proposal that includes three towers at 65, 56 and 27 floors. The entire complex will include the following:
Toronto’s B+H Architects and Seattle-based GGLO are the design teams behind the plan and the current opening date is set at summer 2020.
The location is 900 Albert, and it will be located adjacent to the Lebreton Flats redevelopment. It will be well served by transit thanks to the new LRT Confederation Line which is set to launch this November.
The proposal was just approved this week by the planning committee and the council.
Just to give context to the significance of these towers, when built, the tallest of the towers is going to be taller than any currently existing building in Montreal and Vancouver. This complex will literally and figuratively change the way Ottawa will look.
