Keep your eyes on this one. It might not be the most spectacular building, but it promises to be one of our more interesting developments. It will really help anchor that little area as an important knowledge centre along with CIGI and Perimeter.

This is the kind of thing that makes Waterloo stand out. (Who needs the CN Tower?)

They held the first annual social event for the Balsillie School on Friday. Very fancy. Looks like everything is on track.

Yup, held at CIGI.

As for renderings I haven't seen anything yet. All I've been told is that there will be lots of space. They seem to be concerned with the inside, making sure it will be a nice work/school environment.

Yup, this has been a done deal for a while but it just now became 'public'. It should be a big boost of confidence for the new school.

AS in they have submitted a design, or decided they will be submitting one?

They have submitted their proposals to design. The next phase is a competition those six firms will submit a design and then those interviews will be the final decision as to who the architect will be.

I hope whatever design they have finally decided to go with. The Balsillie School of International Affairs new campus should, not only standout against Perimeter across the road but also live up to the guy it named after (co-founder of RIM). It is all about innovation.
