From a couple of hours ago:

Rather than take the typical shots from the base, I figured I'd pull back a bit and try for some more contextual photos of the Shanghai Tower.

I don't know but if I had to pass this route on my way to work, I would probably be late every day. Just can't get enough of those gorgeous towers, especially SWFC and jin mao.

First version of the diagram, still bunch of work to do:
1) Complete the cross section diagram on the entire tower.
2) Add another 1 or 2 towers for comparison (suggestions?)
3) Edit the background image (too dark)
4) Create layers and components in order to modify it faster
5) Add general information (floors data, elevations, core info, etc.. etc.. etc)

I encourage you to search for errors and post any info you would like to see in the diagram. The more info it has, the more accurate and complete it'll be.

^^ can't wait for your complete version, because the current one looks already good.
you could add ICC, Taipei 101 and/or Pingan IFC.

Hard to believe that this will make the Jin Mao look like a midget and completely dwarf the SWFC while at it.

no. you live in shanghai and know (presumably) the ins and outs of it pretty well but even well read folks on this forum are not going to have the same knowledge as you or anyone else familiar with that city. it's like assuming everyone should be familiar with neighborhoods around manhattan. and at least with manhattan, outsiders are probably more apt to be familiar with upper west side, greenwich village and harlem than pudong or puxi

I took a couple shots last weekend when I was in the area. I'll post them up this weekend when I've got some time.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been many updates for this project. I remember when SWFC was going up we had updates nearly every 2 days.

A couple of this beast that I took last weekend. The core is around 170m now, and it is starting to be visible from a lot of different vantage points, especially with the huge cranes on the top. This is probably the best tower U/C anywhere in the world right now - no idea why it's so ignored here.

Are they going to use 4 cranes all the way to the top or are they going to use 2 like OWTC?
