A couple screenshots from the No.2 "views" page (penthouse of course). Everything about this project is just impressive.

Groundbreaking

When does Opus plan to break ground? I'm pretty jazzed to see this get going.

They have said construction will begin in October " if not sooner".

Great angle. I didn't realize how big 675 N. Highland Ave would look. Took me a little figure out what that blob-in-the-trees was!

I can see the Opus sales center from my office. This has to be biggest sales center ever for a midtown project. Need to get over there

Not much news form today's article, but they said "the project would move forward with construction regardless of its volume of pre-sales". However, they mentioned 35-40 serious buyers and their hope is to secure 100 or more pre-sales in the next six months.

"The hope is to break ground in October, with the goal of opening the tower in 2019. Sunshine said construction may start later than October, but likely by the end of the year."

"The tower will have around 40,000 square feet of amenities, such as a demonstration kitchen, IMAX screening room and golf simulator."

I just received an email from the Opus2 mailing list that said they sold 8 homes last week.

EDIT: In addition they linked to this fluff piece http://robbreport.com/shelter/homes-...trict-2717342/

50+ stories is still a good 600 or 700 feet. Will definitely keep 14th Street the tallest E-W artery in the area.

Related, have the trees on the property been X'd for removal for some time? I feel like they have, but seeing it this past weekend got me wondering.

690' is the advertised height.

A couple of weeks ago someone said that their land development permit was almost ready to issue. Does anyone know where that stands?

Email update for Opus 2:

Quote:
Just a quick update! We are nearly SOLD OUT of our 1-Bedroom residences here at No2 Opus Place. With only 5 remaining, priced from $733K-$818K, these will not last much longer.

If you have been considering purchasing here I would highly encourage you not to wait much longer as I would hate to see you miss out.

Oversized_Floorplan.pdf - 1,137sq ft
1 Bedroom + Den/2 Full Baths
Only 15 total 1-Bedrooms in entire building
Call or email me with any questions you might have. Have a great weekend!
The email is a bit dramatic as there are still 33% of the 1 bedroom floorplans available but still a good sign I think.

Can't wait to see this one move forward. If only construction were as easy as hundreds of glass panes flying into place within a few seconds...

Has anyone heard any updates on this one? It's getting awfully close to that predicted October (or sooner) groundbreaking.

I may not be the best at searching Accela, but I didn't see any applications pending or permits issued for this location.

The LD is awaiting final approval for the Building Plan Review. Plans were returned on 9/26 by KH and are due to be approved on 10/3.

Then, once they pay their outstanding fees, they can begin moving dirt.
