Sydney - Australia's urban paradise

Sydney is a financial and media capital sitting on the worlds largest natural harbour in a sunny warm climate. It's a lot of fun to photograph as a photography student.

The city:

Absolutely disgusting that a city could look that good -- architecture, natural setting, and people. I hate you Sydney.

Spoken like somebody from Melbourne. Really great city, but they hate us.

Well of course like any city it's not perfect. Bad traffic, NIMBYs and high cost of living.

These are from this week, have been trying to achieve that old school street photography look. Most of these are on George Street, which is the cities longest street and runs 3km through the whole downtown.

These are great photos. I love Sydney, but as far as Australian cities go, I prefer Melbourne. As far as natural settings go, Sydney is some kind of summer playground. There is a place called Nielsen Park that isn't easy to get to but I loved climbing around on the rocks. And Manly is arguably the best beach that I have ever set foot on. Great set. We don't see enough of the down under.

Is there a velvet rope and bouncers at the entrance to Bondi Beach to keep the old and out-of-shape and unattractive people out?

I'm desperate to see Sydney (and Melbourne). Sucks that it's like a million-hour plane ride away.

Smile

Enjoyed your pics of Sydney, Morn! Thanks for sharing.

My favourites are the night shots, skylines and from Sydney Tower, Bondi Beach and the streets with people pictures. Bondi Beach looks wonderful.

Sydney looks very nice. I´ve always dreamt about visiting that pretty city and country in the antipodes of Spain.

Greetings from Madrid, Spain.

I feel like Sydney is a perfect city. It looks so vibrant, exciting, clean, and orderly....yet anything but sterile. Love the European street layout...interesting that the city is not in the boring grid pattern given how young it is.

It reminds me of a - dare I say it - nicer version of SF.
