In the meantime, I've highlighted the buildings built in the past 10 years, although I probably missed a lot of the mid sized towers in the center of the pic.

This one is just amazing...

In that bottom pic it seems that there are still plenty of parking lots and garages ready to be town up and turned into highrises. I cant believe that there are still parking lots in Manhattan, lol

There are quite a few, its the west side of Manhattan - that area is primarily lowrise and parking lots, underpasses, etc. It's why it's often referred to as Manhattan's last frontier, and is one of the reasons why there is a steady march of skyscrapers in that direction. It's also the reason why a tower of this height is visible from the Hudson, even though its not really near the waterfront.

Definitely a dramatic change from that view.

sweet jesus thats an insane pic. To add perspective, a little over 100 years ago the then worlds tallest building would be visible in that picture. Today that building, which still stands, is a shrub nowhere to be seen in this view.

btw i'm referring to One TS.

*edit* nevermind, I guess that's One TS where the Toshiba sign is?

That i don't get. It barely looks taller McGraw-Hill, the green one, and that doesn't even break 500ft. are the planning on some spire? I see 600 feet as the height written everywhere

Both the Westin and Ernst & Young towers are over 500 ft. The top of the rods on the Times tower are above 800 ft. I believe it may just be a case of its surroundings.

^ Unless anti-billboard activists take Midtown hostage like they have LA.
