Last week, The Post reported that law firm Proskauer Rose's lease with Boston Properties for its planned tower at 255 W. 55th St. might not be as dead as Mort Zuckerman's Boston Properties had made it sound.

In fact, last Wednesday - the day my colleague Lois Weiss reported that talks might have resumed, thus reviving hopes the tower might get built - Proskauer suits "came by the site in the morning and afternoon, standing on the roof" of a building on the block, our ghost reports.

"They were studying the foundation and talking with apparent approval into their cellphones."

I like it. A lot of people think it's too bland and boring. It's more Park Avenue than 8th Avenue, and will change people's attitudes about it more than the Times or the Hearst towers did.

That looks somewhat better than the initial renders. I like it. Pleasently surprised to that it looks skinny for an office tower. The base looks good too.

To me this is a prime example of a skyscraper in its true form. I love the design and hope this leads to more of its kind to be built on 8th. You can never have enough 6th and 4th Avenue styled box canyons.

I don't doubt that once the economy shapes up, 8th Avenue with become littered with buildings such as this style and will be the new 6th. It's already on its way.

You know, in this case I don't mind how outdated it may be. The earlier rendering really made me dislike this building but now I'm all for it. Its sorta like the offspring of the twin towers, almost...

The more I look at it, the more I love it. It's a breath of fresh air. No crazy or gimmicky design, though there's nothing wrong with that either. But this is indeed a pure skyscraper. Simple. Elegant. And well suited for its purpose, which is to supply office space. Let's just hope that lease agreement is worked out so this one can resume construction.

I think I will check the boring column on this one. Of course the final verdit will be in the details, but, I currently find myself not that enthused. On the positive note, I do like the base.
