How are these dancing towers going to withstand strong winds? I really do like the design alot...

Crazy design, but I think I like the dancers better. I appreciate the spirit of Dubai in building these towers--they seem to be melding art with skyscrapers. These towers look like a sculpture that you might put in the plaza of a tall building! I think the construction pictures of these will be fascinating if they get built.

They look vaguely like different stages of deflating the old Russia Tower design.

It seems like you'd have to go part way up and then walk to another elevator that would be placed at just the right position to continue your trip. Dubai never ceases to amaze me.
The elevators will go STRAIGHT UP.

There is nothing extraordinary on the design, as far as structure is concearned. The central core is a conventional straight shaft and the floor plates just change configuration. The pointy top is not habitable so don't get confused by it.

Once again: DUBAI TOWERS, Dubai and DANCING TOWERS are TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT PROJECTS!!!

Why is it when these American architect firms design highrise buildings for Dubai or Shanghai, they let their imagination run wild, but when they do it for their own country, they keep their designs convervative, almost boring?

Without a doubt one the best to be built in this evergrowing city. It really amazes me on how engineers can mold these buildings into such shapes.

Spectacular design, dumb name. Dubai would have Burj Dubai (Tower of Dubai), Al Burj, The Tower, and now Dubai Towers?

Simple, its called oil money...

Sweet design other than that, and yes, the elevators will go straight up, if you take a ruler or something and put it up and down, its quite clear that these just look like they are deviating, though the core is really straight.

Those are some crazy buildings. They are awesome in their own way. I have to say, Dubai is on the list of places i have to see, for all those amazing buildings above anything else...

Man, I really hope they start growing on me. Although they look like some kind of alien shrub so maybe they do grow in a way.

Question What news?

So, what's the latest on this project? Still going forward? The Wikipedia article about the towers shows some physical models, made sometime before September. Any word on when they may start?

Yeah, that's about what I've been able to find out, too. Do you know if anyone's working on diagrams for these towers? Will it be one diagram, or 4?
