I keep hearing the Rams will move to LA and that their owner Stan Kroenke is behind getting a new stadium built there. Is this stadium funded by the city in an effort to keep the team in St Louis?

A small mid-century office building - in the booming Central Corridor - is being converted into 24 apartments.

The building is located on Lindell Boulevard - just blocks north of CORTEX.

The project is called, The Province at 4242 Lindell.

A number of residential projects are either under construction or proposed for Lindell Blvd.

Progress on the $120-million Arcade building in downtown St. Louis.

Quote:
Once declared the world’s tallest reinforced concrete building, the century-old Arcade is under rehab as downtown St. Louis’ largest apartment development in decades.

When reopened late next year, the Arcade Building will have 282 apartments, plus classrooms, offices, a street-level art gallery and an auditorium for Webster University, which is expanding its downtown campus.

I'm not an NFL fan, nor have I ever been to St Louis, but all those surface parking lots near the waterfront, just for the stadium? Seems a bit too much wasted space that could be used for more park space.

Remediation and some demolition work has begun on the Missouri Theater Building in Grand Center/Midtown, and should be completed in a few months.

The first phase of the project will cost $29.3 million and will include 108 apartments and 25,000 square feet of commercial space. It should be completed sometime in 2016.

BB King's Blues Club, which has locations in Memphis, Nashville and Orlando, Florida, will open a venue and restaurant on the ground floor.

Not bad. It seems brick will forever make up some fair infill, and I like that way of merging a bit of different material with it to the 4th floor. Is that some kind of dark zinc roofing? They do the same here often enough, and it works to me.

A $30-million renovation of St. Louis' downsized convention center hotel (Renaissance Grand), is underway and will be transformed into the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel.

The Marriott St. Louis "Grand" Hotel will join other "Grands" in Rome, Moscow and Las Vegas.

There are two 23-story towers connected at the base. One tower of the hotel was a former Statler Hotel, built in 1917.

Both the old and new towers were completed in 2003.

The hotel will go from 1,083 rooms to 918-rooms. The contemporary renovation is coming along nicely.

Part II

This 165-room suites hotel will no longer be a part of the convention center hotel complex.

However, the 24-story hotel is being renovated at nearly $16-million. It will become a Courtyard by Marriott.

Steady, stoic progress in the central corridor.

This kind of thing used to be a big deal, now larger infill projects in st. louis city no longer are the exception. This is north of forest park on a stately tree lined apartment street built around the time of the 1904 worlds fair. Sorry for the terrible rendering. There are other larger apartment buildings on that street so it isnt out of scale.

prep for foundation work has begun on a 26-story residential tower at 212 South Meramec Avenue in downtown Clayton. Clayton is adjacent to St. Louis City limits and is a pre-war suburb with the regions auxillary urban CBD and grade seperated light rail access, otherwise I would not be posting suburban development.

Here's more context on the residential project proposed for the Central West End. The design has to go before the St. Louis Preservation Board on May 18th.

Not clear exactly on how many units or the entire scope of the project.

Project will be just a few blocks from the new Loop Trolley and MetroLink.

The Central Corridor is seeing a lot of new development - especially residential.
