Why haven't they leased it out to a developer to build condos? I drive by there all the time and always think that would be such a great spot to develop a high density area. Right by highway and right on the water

Does anyone have any information regarding the apartment being constructed near 108 avenue with the red and white crane? Will it be just apartments or will they also add like a highrise around there besides the tien sher?

It's called Venue - just a low rise, no highrise however there is a new deveopment close by that will have several highrises. Application is going through the Surrey city hall review now. Below is the link with more info.

Surrey's annual 'PARKit' Pop-up park has a new home this year in Central City Plaza for Canada150. Installation in place between now and Sept 11.

Park has been quite busy during the day. Most of these photos (except for the 1st) were taken after 9pm once the mall had closed.

Surprised the homeless or street skids aren't visible in the pics.

Central City Plaza is all office and university crowd.

Sketchy people tend to congregate outside the convenience store across from Surrey Central Station.

The homeless and skids are quite diluted by the 10,000's of commuters passing through the area everyday anyway.

i know that, but you will still see some hanging out by the mall entrance doors and the food court. not exactly a welcoming sight.

And I saw two homeless looking young people begging for change outside Holt Renfrew just yesterday. Not a welcoming sight but they seem to exist in every commercial neighbourhood in the city, excepting perhaps West Vancouver, where admittedly I've never come across any homeless persons or feral youth.

Saw this new development from an ad being proposed/built in White Rock. Thought this would be relevant to this thread!
