Well perhaps my take on "urban" versus "industrial" as well as the vicinity of the yard. 30 HY is a big and bulky. Like a lot of serious industrial objects. Nothing wrong with that.

I think it will be great for alleviating the High Line crowding. It will be a huge space to help fan out all those people. I can't wait to see it activated.

Brief tangent:
Is that smaller crane to the right part of Bjarke's twist towers?

This is just an idea of how much the area has changed.

I took these photos many years ago. Was back in 2007.

Was from the deck of a cruise ship, but point being, Midtown West has changed dramatically and even Jersey City. Hundreds of new highrises and skyscrapers have risen all over since 2008

Bonus shots to compare change based on what where use to now.

every time I enter here and see new photos the complex looks better and better, the area will be the most visited in Manhattan once it is completed, there is no doubt, and the observatory will be, without a doubt, the most visited attraction in the world ¡¡¡ , because the views from there will be fabulous and totally new.

I agree with the deck. I think this will be the top deck. Its open to the atmosphere, has a lot of room (unlike ESB) and you get to view the iconic towers like 1 WTC, ESB, Chrysler, and all of the upcoming 57th Street supertalls. Given the positioning of it, its not hindered as it faces the Eastern flank.

I think this will be the best deck in terms of views. Best bang for the buck. Second to that is Top of the Rock (somewhat underrated as most go to ESB, but its way better and its not closed off like 1 WTC). Its a shame the deck on 1 WTC isn't open (and its overpriced too!).

Here's one of Brooklyn, again in 2007.

Based on what we are used too, that node has become highly altered. Back in 2007, we would have never envisioned DoBro getting a super tall, much less anything over 600 ft.

The era of Bloomberg and Deblasio has altered the cityscape. Its become much more beefier, and the flanks along both rivers have become cities in themselves.

The 2 Big Boys (50H & Spiral) will (If I have placement right) make for a massive third column to the right of 10 & 30.

Okay...I'll throw in 3 AFKA Girasole only so's not to hurt its feelings and I'll let it play with the other big boys.

15 and 35 make a beautiful pair and will play of each other a lot better than you might think...
