Of course!! Can't have anything unique or exciting anymore when it comes to office or hotel towers. Nothing but infill. We get tantalized with great looking preliminary designs, only to get kicked right in the crotch with the final drawings when ground is about to be broken. This, and the downtown convention hotel are two blatant examples. SMH

Oh.. I didn't see your post.

What is it supposed to house? some "innovation campus"? "startup space"?

Cerner is a medical information technology company. They're growing rapidly and are building a whole new campus which will eventually house some 16,000 employees.

Awesome cconcept design. But. How much will this change from concept to actual?

it will probably change a lot like any other rendering but if we can end up somewhere in this ballpark we'll be good.

Block breaks ground on office building it says will change Plaza skyline, become landmark
Quote:

Developers broke ground on a new office building they said will change the skyline of the Country Club Plaza.

The new office building going in at 46 Penn Centre will be a 14-story building made mostly of glass. Developer Ken Block said the building will become an architectural landmark in Kansas City.

A slanted cap Block called “the swoop” will top the building. Block anticipates a “world class” restaurant on the first floor. Office tenants will have access to a rooftop terrace, private balconies and a fitness center.
