The fist news abt Technocity came almost 2 years back. Till now no concreate step has happened apart from sime press notes/SSC/ssp formers saying its going in right direction. The some guys in Kochi and TVM who are there in form in fighting ecch other status IT hub of the status. They are holding placard of 250 acre smart city(delay city) and 500 acre infocity(a non-starter as of now). But these guys havnt noticed 12, 500 acre knowledge city coming up near Bangalore.!
DLF plans Rs 60000 cr project in Bangalore
NEW DELHI: The country’s largest real estate company DLF has bagged the project for developing Bidadi Knowledge City of Bangalore, spread over 9,178 acres, which will be three times the size of DLF City in Gurgaon.
To be positioned as New Bangalore, the project will entail an investment of over Rs 60,000 crores, which is believed to be the largest ever investment by any private sector company.
Sources in DLF said this project will be developed in a 50:50 joint venture (JV) with Dubai-based firm Limitless Holdings, a sister company of Nakheel and part of the diversified Dubai World group.
They added that California-based architecture and design firm Calthorpe Associates have been appointed to prepare the master plan for the project. This new city would be developed based on the theme of ‘walk to work. The project will be developed at about 30km from Bangalore and 100km from Mysore.
Sources said the Konowledge City will have metro rail connection with Bangalore. They said there are proposals of metro stations and airports inside the township.
For better connectivity, Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority is planing a series of ring roads.
Bidadi Knowledge City will also have shopping malls, multiplexes and hotels.
