Just curious what your source is, Bess? That is great if that is accurate! Took a while for The Banks units to be absorbed, but it was a pretty significant build testing a "new concept" in condo/commercial development for Saskatoon.

I am aware of a Hair/Salon that has opened in The Banks....any rumours on any other commercial leasing?

I called the phone numbers that were listed for each location. Have not heard of any commercial and didn't think to ask about that.

Anyone know why the Erindale McDonalds is shuttered up again? It says renovations, but it’s been less than a year since they opened up after their last renovation.

Just in time for the dollar coffee deal too.

I was watching the results of this one with interest....probably the first real test of this council to uphold their commitment to infill development. Not without controversy, this was likely a very difficult decision based on the "historical" aspect and significance of this particular area/street in Saskatoon. But I commend their courage to move forward...even though there was opposition. The developer already has made modifications and has a history of doing quality work (i.e. KG Condo historical development).

I am sure there will still be a lot of push back on this decision, but in my opinion, they made the right one. And yes, I do live in the "area" about 6 blocks away.

i think something like this built more towards D'lish would cause more issues...but i agree with some of the folks mentioning its close to a main road with a midrise tower on the corner, so something like this being so close IMO is something we should be pushing for more. lots like top of broadway bridge/uni bridge. market mall area, maybe even do 3-4 storey retail housing units along 8th and 22nd in years to come?

but happy this went through. when does it begin construction ?

Also...it is not like they will be tearing down old historical houses in this case, as the entire parcel of land is a church probably built in the 50's or 60's.

thats interesting.

guess that answers my question on whats next in the college quarter project. wonder when the mixed use village will begin, and if that rendering at the end will include those 4 midrise towers, would be great for that area.

240Fourth is being actively marketed for lease on the Colliers website.

It sure is a gem of a building. Would love to see it constructed.
