Are you nuts? Since when do New Yorkers refer to the subway as the "metro".

so, i don't understand, with the mta entrance built out, it looks like nothing of ratner's original plan remains aside from the stadium, like the site is essentially built out, and in such a way that doesn't easily accommodate additional structures.

what's the plan? is this it? (if so, i'm thrilled!)

also, what a great building, this one will force the san francisco basketball team's new stadium up a notch or five, for sure.

The subway entrance is just that, an entrance. The plaza itself is supposed to be temporary, though I hope it isn't.

Even in the days of "miss Brooklyn", that area was to be a focal point

I didn't say anything about a metro...that was the guy I was quoting.

So how realistic are those surrounding building proposals shown in the renderings? Have any serious proposals been put forth yet?

Well yeah, you took his quote and used it to question New Yorkers. See the connection, no?

What's nature? And does it come in green?

Man, as cool as that Oculous looks I'm still sticking with my support for Miss Brooklyn. From the looks of some of the renderings it looks like they would build the building over the the plaza and Oculous anyways (if that makes sense).

We are just a week or so away from September. I wish the Nets jersey would start being leaked.

the black and white looks so weird, but it's so cool to see the word "brooklyn" emblazoned across the chest.

That's not the new Nets jerseys... they claimed Brooklyn will be on the home and away (similar to the Knicks with New York on both).

I really hope they don't build those awful 15-foot-high letters along Atlantic and Flatbush around the subway entrance. Isn't the huge sign on the arena enough branding?

Having just walked past there in June, I can't believe they haven't narrowed the two main streets (Flatbush and Atlantic I think?) to two lanes each way from three. It's going to be a nightmare with thousands of pedestrians crowding too-narrow sidewalks alongside six lanes of traffic.

Unfortunately those jerseys have been debunked as just a fan concept.

Listening to the people who have seen the jerseys, they say that they take simplicity to a whole new level. Think the current Cavs jerseys. I certainly hope not!

There, I knew that I knew who designed those. I'm also on a sports logos forum so we're all about finding any leaks and that for the new jerseys. Think about it, we got leaks of the logo...

I was in the Downtown Brooklyn, area a few days ago, and if the area wasn't already busy this will add 15-20,000 people to converge in one area. Also passed by this building and it's a lot bigger in person (isn't every building).

They took that out of the updated renderings, thankfully.
