Stone Oak is abundant with Illinois and California licence plates. They're as commonplace as Texas licence plates.

I was watching Great Day SA and the owner of Trilogy Pizza & Wine Bistro was in the studio cooking up some pizza. His restaurant is located in Stone Oak and it makes New York style pizza, Chicago deep dish style pizza, and Californa style pizza. Hense the name Trilogy.

He said Stone Oak was like "Little Chicagoland" with all the people from Chicago moving there.

That place is SOOOOO good! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good wine with some awesome pizza! Its a tad pricey but I think well worth it!

You don't need to annex people. All you need is to annex land and use open land that you have.

But the own land isn't being filled with tons of people.

If anything, maybe in the past year and a half since the land of annexed, maybe 200 have moved into the residental developments going up currently.

Not to mention the original 400 or so people that were living on the annexed land, all mostly lived in one group location and are all being forced out of there because that is where the A&M University is being built.

Anyway, the question was, did SA annex any land since 2000 to help inflate the numbers. The answer is no.

Of all the land annexed in South Bexar county (City South) this is the largest and only neighborhood. The entire neighborhood is being forced to leave so the A&M University can be built. 410 is the freeway at the top.

Anything and everything else south of 410 in South Bexar County is farm land.

At yet 3 times as many people moved into our metro in the 1990's as moved into your SA. LOLOLOL.....and that is still happening. And again...I wonder how many people are actually moving into SA verses being Annexed. And my facts of more people moving into Chicago land...actually moving into Chicagoland blows away your license plate survey.

Off topic, but the Spurs just moved up near the top of the list of all-time NBA championship teams. Obviously far behind the Celtics, Lakers and Bulls, but pretty much ahead of almost everyone else.

Actually not. Just trying to see what is actually occuring down in San Antonio. Love the city (which you always seem to forget...why do you forget...because your life is about arguing).

Chicago has its own problem...trying to figure that out too. The estimate says we are shrinking...but as you will note over in disussions...we are all in disbelief because of all the construction downtown and almost all the neighborhoods. So we are trying to figure out what is actually happening.

In the case of San Antonio....is that infill? That would be a fantastic thing to hear about. San Antonio is doing infill. But until we know...how much growth is attributed to people actually moving and building in the city verses simple annexation..that picture is muddy.

You could go on forever with that list of yours but even so, that still doesn't necessarily equate more people moving to Chicago! There are no big population centers around San Antonio to annex.......why do most people find that hard to believe? I know that we have our fair share of SA boosters who will stop at nothing, but that still doesn't explain why you can't believe the postings and even census data that all indicate that people are moving to SA by the thousands to land within the city-limits that is being developed. The picture is not muddy at all, you have just chosen to believe as you do (Some people claim that America never landed on the moon), that still won't change the fact that SA will be the seventh largest city in America in the near future and a lot larger in the future.

Now back to the subject matter.

Where is the infill occuring...within existing city boundaries. Was most of the growth inside or outside loop 1604 (within the city)?

Most of the new subdivisions built are located around 1604. Many are now well outside of 1604 and a great arc now stretches ever westward. Camp Bullis is a barrier to the immediate north of the city limits thus the move to the Northwestern side of the city.

Again, the annexation that occurs hardly is a factor when it comes to population increases. I guess the few hundred people inhabiting enormous swaths of newly acquired land just barely cancels out the number of people dying.
