Greenville, SC - A bit of the West End (and a bonus too)

About a month a go the family and I were passing through Greenville, SC. I had visited the city several times before, but not with the wife & daughter. We had some time (about an hour or so) before dinner and decided to check out how the revitalization of the West End of the downtown area was going.

btw, here's a dandy tour of Greenville hauntedheadnc did not too long ago:

Nice set. I went to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach quite a bit on family trips when I was growing up.

You've gotta love Falls Park. How many other cities have a signature urban park that includes genuine falls smack dab in the middle of downtown? That place is magnetic.

When I lived near Asheville (in Henderson County, which borders Greenville County), I would go to Greenville often. It has something new to see every time. It's a great city and is as beautiful as it looks in photographs. There are also great neighborhoods nearby too. It's been a while since I was in Greenville. I remember the new building (in number 36) was under construction around the last time I was there (almost topped-out). There are a few more under construction for my next visit. Great city and thank you for sharing.

Greenville has one of the most pleasant and bustling downtowns for a city its size I've been to, especially in the South.

I've always been amazed by Greenville's downtown; the vibrancy, beauty, and most importantly, they really did the tree canopies right. It looks beautiful! Thank you.

I visited Greenville for the first time a few weeks ago. Instantly one of my favorite cities...at least downtown! The beauty of the gateway spur also bumped up my rating! (it's the little things)

Greenville is definitely one of the shining stars of new urbanism in the south. You captured it well.

ah, the ol' mexican standoff.

nice photos, chappy. i'm not sure if i love or hate that falls park. the falls are nice, but the area around it ... eh, i'd love it if i lived there.
