2424 Tulane:

I would love to see all of Tulane from claiborne to carrollton. canal from claiborne to broad street , and galvez from tulane to poydras populated with buildings like this between 7-12 stories in height.. would make for a lot of mid price housing that is conveniently located to access jobs in the metro area through mass transit

agreed. I really love this project and I hope some like this are built between Jeff Davis and Carrollton. I wonder what will go in the ground floor!

Humm I wonder what’s going on with 1010 common. I hope it’s a company looking to expand or relocate to the city and takes up some of the office space in that building, that would be wonderful!

Ozanam Inn building sold, forcing leaders to seek out new home for city's homeless

https://www.nola.com/news/business/a...404a6c86b.html

The homeless men that have for decades taken shelter at Ozanam Inn in the Central Business District will soon be without a refuge, after the religious group that owned the Camp Street building sold it last month amid concerns that a former leader of the group had mishandled its finances.

The building, formerly owned by the New Orleans affiliate of the national Catholic lay organization The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, has been bought by a developer who plans to convert it into a hotel and parking garage, according to sources familiar with the plans.

well its hard to say: a zoning verification for the property was filed recently (usually done when a building is about to sell or some type of refi or financing is happening), we know they were clearing out upper floors for a hotel (rumored Fairmont), also the building is owned by the Kailas Family... so who knows but the demo work would seem to indicate the hotel development is moving forward

I dont think any company wants to locate in a tower managed by that family... not the best reputation and of course Hard Rock has further cemented that reputation..

New crane arrives at Hard Rock New Orleans to help secure area and shrink evacuation

Crews at the site of the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel site in New Orleans are moving another crane into place Tuesday to help secure the demolished crane over Canal Street, allowing the evacuation area to possibly shrink and some businesses nearby to reopen, officials announced via the city's NOLAReady Twitter account.

Details about how much the evacuation zone might shrink, when it might shrink and which businesses along Canal might soon reopen weren't released.

Last week city officials presented a timeline for when the implosion of the failed Hard Rock Hotel construction site would happen shortly after they announced the demolition of the building would move forward.

Engineers have determined that implosion is the safest way to dispose of the dangling carcass of the high-end hotel that pancaked on the morning of Oct. 12 with more than 100 workers on site, according to a statement from the developer, 1031 Canal Development LLC.

Happy opening weekend to M.S. Rau and their shiny new expanded gallery space! This incredible historic renovation transformed two late-1800’s Creole buildings on Royal Street into 19,000 SF of new showroom space for the 105-year old antiques dealer. Flip through for a sneak peek of the expanded gallery plus a bonus “before” image showing how far the buildings have come in the past year. #palmisanoprojects Photos: M.S. Rau

Disappointed in this design. Would have loved to see them continue their colored building theme carry over from Baker's Row. This design lacks life and detail. Silver lining, the project has been approved by HDLC three different times with three different designs; I'm sure it will go through some more before it's finally approved.
