This is a sharp addition to the existing 80 M Street building. The building might have a lot more office vacancies, however, if We Work goes bankrupt.

Timber! Two-Story Wood Addition Proposed For Office Building North of Nats Park

October 25, 2019
by UrbanTurf Staff

"A new design concept is being proposed for an office building one block north of Nats Park.

Columbia Property Trust has filed plans with DC to renovate the seven-story office building at 80 M Street SE and construct a two-story addition. Hickok Cole designed the renovation and addition.

The vertical addition will consist of a new glass curtainwall with metal trim, but perhaps most interesting is the incorporation of wood into the design. Mass timber will be the primary material used in construction of the addition..."

I took these photos yesterday of the former CSX property off of New Jersey Ave, SE, immediately south of I-695. Several residential buildings and a hotel are planned for this 11 acre site.

This is excellent news for Cleveland Park, which is a nice neighborhood but has become a bit stagnant in recent years. I do miss the Four Ps, however.

"The largest residential development planned in Georgetown has a more refined look.

Today, the Old Georgetown Board (OGB) is reviewing the newest iteration of IBG Partners and Wilco Residential's plans to retrofit and add to the buildings at 3401 Water Street NW to create a 43-unit condo development with retail/restaurant space. Fannie Mae campus redevelopment

Can't believe 2 years ago HPRB approved that building being designated a historic landmark. It was built in 1958 and kills that portion of the street, which this development will have no improvement on.

"This summer, UrbanTurf detailed what is in the works for the redevelopment of the Key Bridge Marriott site in Rosslyn. Now, new renderings provide a better sense of how the proposed development will look.

Last week, the Arlington County Site Plan Review Committee (SPRC) began reviewing the site plan application for the 5.5-acre site at 1401 Lee Highway (map). The project, from Woodridge KB, LLC and Duball Development Services, would partially demolish and renovate the 60 year-old hotel to create a new 446-key hotel between 16-story plus-penthouse residential buildings with a total of 451 units..."
