Definitely awkward when traveling with someone for business. Not so much if just family, but still pretty weird.

Sliding/barn doors on hotel bathrooms are the worst.

With all of the projects I lose track of what each looks like. I moved this rendering up from a couple pages back to help my memory.

I used them in my current house in 2 places....yes they serve that exact purpose....But I wish we would have used pocket doors instead. Live and learn.

The site went quiet late last week. But it's busy this morning.

Update from Towers

Quote:
Carson Nelsen, project designer for the tower’s architects Nelsen Partners, confirmed that demolition of the site’s existing structure and the beginnings of construction are taking place at the corner simultaneously, with the first of many concrete pours for the building’s foundation starting on Monday earlier this week. “We expect construction to continue and completion of the project in fall 2021,” he says.

The demo seems more typical of a project carefully saving the bones of a structure for a major remodel.

Hmm maybe they need that to maintain the structural integrity with the building next door?

It might have to do with how the basements of those two spaces are/were connected.

It's a slow news day. So I'll post a webcam update.

From last weekend, working in the basement.

Screenshot from the webcam just now, moving a bit faster and roof is half gone.

This is technically U/C because the mat foundation pour was completed earlier this month. The tower crane is scheduled to go up four weekends from now.
