That's what I'm talking about: Good bikeable density. Just hop on the Trail and you'll be downtown in no time.

"Celebrate opening of Central Park Station"
Quote:
As we continue to grow and expand our service, the first station to open for the future A Line to the airport is Central Park Station. It's along Smith Road just west of Central Park Boulevard.

This new Park-n-Ride will open for bus service on Sunday, September 13, 2015 and will replace the existing Stapleton Park-n-Ride, which will permanently close on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
Come on over.

You're invited to celebrate the opening of the new Central Park Station with us on Saturday, September 26, 2015. RTD and Denver Transit Partners will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8200 Smith Road in Denver.

I think the beetle kill thing will be classy. Agree about the Westin sign, that should've been an absolute no-no. Shame on the city for allowing that.

That's fine, it's in the middle of downtown. It's not attached to a landmark that is architecturally distinctive enough that is gets half a dozen viewplanes of its own. We don't have much in Denver worth protecting; the view of the airport terminal is on that short list.

True... But I love me some seamless, sexy, glass curtain walls regardless!

I'm glad they only took up a single story for that logo and didn't go all Qwest / CenturyLink on it.

It was so nice when riding the train (since this is a transportation thread), and seeing that big blue beacon in a sea of dark buildings. You knew when you were getting close to downtown.

We could say: In a sea of darkness, Qwest lit up our lives. Let's pour one out for our long lost blue brother.

^ Cool blue pics.

Denver's going to have a bike lane party
Miles and miles of new bike lanes. Bike lanes as far as the eye can see.

10 miles of bike lanes citywide.

Fanganello acknowledged that this could cause increased automobile congestion in the remaining lanes and said the city will continue to study that impact.

The City already implements 10-15 miles of bike lanes each year. This dedicated money will help do more potential. From what I understand, the plan this year (2016) is to build 10 miles of bike lanes, 2 miles of PBLs, and 5 miles of Neighborhood Bikeways.

The article didn't say much, but I understand this to be seed money for preliminary engineering. The AA is already done, with NEPA being complete end of year (ish).

That was a little confusing. Throwing in Alcoholics Anonymous doesn't add much light either.

I just assumed that the $1 million was for a formal traffic analysis needed to submit an EIS for a Fast Starts/Small Starts grant? That assumes that Congress includes such funding going forward of course. This year that looks a little iffy.
