Ditto to that! I'm a former Austinite, and I use this site regularly to keep posted on all the latest developments taking place.

Someone mentioned that the Fairmont is going up fast. If anyone has photos, I'd sure like to see them.

Please refer to the Austin forum under the Regional Section/United States for more up-to-date construction and development status of projects as well as recent photos.

With everything going on, this thread gets neglected more often than not.

New buildings proposed for 2244 / Bee Cave Road

http://gda-architects.com/gda-seven-oaks.html

Austin Business Journal quote:

Quote:
Two buildings named Seven Oaks I and II are set to be built at 8701 Bee Cave Road in West Lake Hills. The address of the owner listed on the documents tracks to prominent Austin development company Riverside Resources. Combined, the two office buildings are valued at nearly $50 million. GDA Architects in Dallas is the designer. Groundbreaking is scheduled for July and should be completed by September 2017. Riverside Resources recently completed the Capital Ridge office tower near Bee Cave Road and Capital of Texas Highway, which is leased in full to Apple Inc.

Just drove around downtown Austin tonight after arriving at the airport. First time I've been downtown in over three years and I can't even believe how much it's changed. New developments all over the damned place, it's awesome. Got some photos from the lake, only could spend about an hour as I'm shooting a wedding in Marble Falls this weekend so unfortunately won't have any time to photograph downtown further. I used to come to Austin a lot as a little kid in the mid 90s-early 2000s, and it's unrecognizable now, but in a good way.

Agreed. It doesn't really hit me how drastically Austin has changed because I follow all the developments and I see the city every day. I kinda wish I could experience it from the perspective of someone like you.

I've always thought that once the Seaholm and Greenwater Treatment Plant developments are complete that Austin will be "complete". That area still has a long way to go, however, and we still don't know what one of the lots will be.

Here's some of my photos from this weekend, didnt have much time to photograph the city, only a couple hours but it was nice to be in the city, even if for just a little bit.

I know this isnt a really new development but while landing we flew right over the formula 1 track.

The next ones arent that great of photos but was with my parents and they dont exactly like cities so I convinced them to just drive through downtown really quick before I had to get back to the airport yesterday...

Just a bonus shot, I took my parents into the capitol building, theyve lived in Texas for 28 years or so but somehow never saw the inside of the capitol.

Happy Summer Solstice! Unfortunately it's just too hot to walk around talking pictures but maybe I'll be able to take a few later this week and will post them here.

New designs and a new timeline. This says it'll start by the end of the year or early next year. This also shows a 4th tower. We're guessing it's the one that's planned to replace the Villas on Town Lake.

SUTTON COS TO BUILD SIGNIFICANT MIXED-USE IN WALLER CREEK

Jun 22, 2016 Catie Dixon, Bisnow, Texas

The tract housed an old condo project called the Villas On Town Lake, but it and Sutton’s adjacent Waller Park Place site will be redeveloped with 440 multifamily units and 75k SF of office in one building and condo and hotel offerings in another (rendering below). Mac hopes to be under construction on the multifamily/office building by the end of 2017; he tells us his team will start the permit process almost immediately.

I'm starting to think it might show 2 new towers.

1, 2, 3 = Waller Park Place
4, 5 = New towers at the Villas

Yeah, I'm fairly positive now.

Waller Park Place includes:

Tower A: Office (#2 in the pic)
Tower B: Apartments (#1)
Tower C: Condos + Hotel (#3)

Villas includes:

Tower 1: Multi-family + Office
Tower 2: Condos + Hotel

Creative development unveiled near Austin's massive new public market
http://austin.culturemap.com/news/in...esses/#slide=0

Quote:
The Yard is located near South Austin’s massive new public market Saint Elmo, a $120 million project sitting on over 10 acres of land off South Congress Avenue. Like Saint Elmo, The Yard is transforming a 150,000-square-foot complex into mixed-use buildings for creative local companies, a music venue, food truck court, festivals, and more.
