Yeah, I used to live in Dallas in the late 90s/early 200s and neither of those buildings had their towers then. When I returned for the first time a few years ago, I was like "what the hell?", not sure if I just never noticed them having towers before, even though I worked downtown and saw those buildings all the time.

That's a beauty. Like those flying buttresses. Very Presbyterian.

Well then please start a thread for "badass" churches and try to leave this one for the tallest churches, as was kindly requested at the start. Thanks.

Whoa, that vaulting is pretty crazy. It looks sort of like something Viollet-le-Duc might have conceived.

Actually there's the Chicago Temple Building which is 568 feet tall. It's the tallest church building in the world.

Another guess, but I'm going with the LDS Temple for Orlando. It claims to be the 2nd biggest temple on the east coast. I suppose it's up on a hill, but they light it up at night and it can be seen for miles and miles.

I just want to promote an architectural marvel from my hometown of wilmette, IL (chicagoland). this is the Bahai house of worship, and while it only stands 191' tall, it's by far the tallest building in wilmette, and a landmark of the entire north shore area.

view from the lake:
