Wheaton's will be opening its second Halifax store in Dartmouth Crossing soon.

Also, apparently Little Burgundy (shoes) will be opening in HSC this fall.

Little Burgundy will be opening at the beginning of August. It will be replacing Locale Shoes on the upper level of the shopping centre.

Apple has Halifax listed on the bottom right hand side of this page
http://www.apple.com/jobs/ca/retail.html

Only a matter of time before HSC confirms the new Apple store. Should be any day now...

The Victoria Secret store in HSC is all wallpapered up and says "Spring 2012". Are the really going to open in less than 1 month?

August they say. Not sure why it says Spring.

The boarding around the store is huge and takes up the old Bluenotes space and all the way down to Dollarama from what I've seen online. I doubt the store will be THAT big... That's over 10 000 sq ft. Interesting.

They've obviously done there market research and figured out that Halifax doesn't get what most would consider "summer". Just winter and a really long spring.

The Victoria's Secret space is so large because it will house both a Victoria's Secret store and a Pink by Victoria's Secret store. Announced on the HSC Facebook page today.

It appears we may be getting a Tilted Kilt restaurant, a U.S. chain.

The Calgary location is 8,000 sq. feet, bigger than the chain’s average 6,000- to-6,500 sq.-foot floorplan in the U.S. Hanby, who has scouted the country, says Ottawa, Halifax and Saint John, N.B., are ripe for the concept. He hopes to see six locations in the Toronto area by the end of 2013.
On a related note the Hooters in Dartmouth is now a Physioclinic.

Why go there when there are plenty of good pubs in the city?

Apparently Business is good in the states for Tilted Kilt. Hooters is dated and in decline according to the Macleans article above.

Is that a serious question?

Aside from the "entertainment", it's actually not all that bad of a restaurant. I've been to the one in downtown Denver and I thought the food was decent and the bar itself was pretty nice.

We're more into independent pubs out here, chains aren't typically considered as legitimate/popular as in the US or Ontario. The culture is closer to the real deal in Ireland and the UK.

Oh I'm well aware, I'm a born and raised maritimer (NB actually). I was just stating that I'm pretty sure they'd be able to at least survive in Halifax, as do several other chains... I agree it won't be the most happening place in town, but they'll find their clientele, the fax can support this easy.

Maybe I'm just a prude, but I go out to talk to friends and have good drinks and food, not to ogle service staff.

The Hooters gimmick wears off really quickly. They seem to do well in tourist areas (Niagara Falls, Hollywood, etc.) with a high turnover where people will go once to see what it's like. Dartmouth was probably not a good spot for something like that.
