Hmmm... well.

- was a bit disappointed with the whole parking lot situation. I know it's an airport and all and you basically just use as much land as you want, but approaching the building from that side is underwhelming.

- views from the rooms are pretty good, and you can't hear a thing from inside

- at first i thought it was odd that you had to go up a floor to get the reception, but after thinking about it a bit I do think that the second floor has a pretty good flow. Having to walk through the lounge area to get to the airport and vis versa gives it a good social feel.

- finishers are uber-modern. My siblings remarked that it looked like it was inspired by an Apple store. I'd love to get one of those white seats in front of the desk (see second-last photo) for my condo. On the other hand, some of the seats were either impractical or uncomfortable to sit in. They looked cool though.

- we used the conference room on the main floor for the wedding reception and it seemed to work out pretty well

Thanks. Yeah the approach is weak.

Anyone got more super-smoky pictures of Edmonton this evening? Our air quality is currently rated 10/10 aka Very High Risk... I dunno about you, but I think I can actually taste the air right now...

Blotted out the sun for awhile. This was odd. No breathing limitations for us.

I've always been interested in photography so I decided to buy my first dslr camera (Nikon d3100) last week.

Went on my first shoot last night and took some skyline photos. I quickly realized I'll need a tripod!

I'll be looking to learn a lot more about this new hobby... Advice and critiques are welcome

Yeah the river valley looks great. I also like all the different colours our skyline offers from the first angle

I wish the new Hyatt Place Hotel was taller, it looks dwarfed even by Canada Place

A bit of history at the Pleasantview school field circa 1982. You can see the Weber building in the background.
