Looking more and more likely that this tower will get built.

Andersen Construction is using the building as a staging area for Block 17 due east until the crane is fully functional (it was being assembled today). The building will be demo'd sometime in June and Andersen will then start construction on the Overton sometime this summer. As always, caveats apply when dealing with construction timetables.

The permit is under review for this proposed tower, but does anyone have behind the scenes info on this project in terms of the probability that it will get built?

While Park Avenue West showed us that nothing is certain until it's built, I'd be surprised if this didn't go ahead. Getting to the point of a permit is a hugely expensive process, that people wouldn't spend money on unless they were serious.

There's a fence going up around the building today. Maybe they're going to start demo soon? I have a nice view from my apartment.

Great news!! And since you have that perfect view of the site, you'll be the official Overton photographer. :-)

What exactly are they doing? Recycling the roof? They did that to a building down here in South Waterfront and I couldn't make any sense of it.

The warehouse is nearly down. This area of the Pearl is going to feel so different in a couple years.

Even though the site hasn't been completely cleared of rubble, there's now a drilling machine on site and a construction trailer. Apparently this one is going to move quickly.

It looks like the foundation permit is complete for this tower.
