Even London or NYC don't have such carefully manicured ancient things to the scale of entire street sections.

We do have some, even larger than this. That's typically where the bloody rich live and hide....

When I take a look at the past, I realize that wealth wasn't made of clean, soulful business, then I find it a little shameful.
But I guess we should be forgiving. These things are still serious assets of ours. So be it.

Just take advantage of it. That's part of the charm somehow.

I took this last week or so. It illustrates how "on the edge" Vancouver can feel, right downtown and yet visible in the distance are the sparsely populated mountains. Probably doesn't show up as well if you see it on a phone.

It is a pretty weird phenomenon, that most who have never lived elsewhere do not appreciate. I had a pal come visit from Toronto last month and he asked what was behind the really mountains to the north.
