In Jiefangbei (the city center) there are three supertalls UC. I wish the weather would have been better so I could have taken some up-to-date photos for all of you, but unfortunately, the clouds hung so low that it made it impossible.
I can seriously see CQ becoming a very well known city around the world in 10 years. The growth that's happening there is almost unparalleled.
That won't happen soon. Some people are too focused on American cities that they don't actually see what's happenin on the rest of the world. Or maybe they're just in denial.

most dont even care about skyscrapers (only the well known ones)

and i think the main reason about the american cities being so well known is because of the entertainment industry is here, or you need at least one extremely well known landmark.

In terms of night time skylines in the U.S., this would be my list:

1. NYC
2. Chicago
3. Las Vegas
4. Pittsburgh
5. Detroit
6. San Francisco
7. Philadelphia
8. Atlanta
9. Dallas
10. Los Angeles

On an international list, I think only NYC and Chicago would be on my list of top 10 from the U.S. It would look something like this:

1. Hong Kong
2. Tokyo
3. Shanghai
4. New York
5. Dubai
6. Chicago
7. Rio
8. Vancouver
9. Seoul
10. Sao Paolo

The pictures on this thread are outstanding. I have been fortunate to behold many of these wonderful skylines in person, don't dare post photos because they would pale in comparision to the those of "I am Hydrogen" and others.

I just find this American v. World thing a bit annoying. American is and always will be where skycrapers originated. That being said, it is not unexpected to see the students out do the mentor. Sort of like Commwealth countries that out perfrom England with regards to cricket, rugby etc.

As a proud Yank, I most likely will tout cities in my nation. I will pay respect to the other wonderful cities, but it just a bit irksome that it has to be a constant battle about America v. World. Just my $.02.

As much as I love Chicago's skyline (especially in Hydro's awesome magic-hour panoramas!), I do wish they'd tart it up more at night.

Hong Kong has it about right IMHO.

I wonder if it's Chicago's characteristic repulsion to glamour.

Cape Town has a very dramatic nighttime skyline....

Table Mountain is often flood lit..... and it DWARFS the 500 foot tall highrises downtown....... I mean... by like a factor of 7.... it's around 3,500 feet in elevation.

and NO.... the photos you find on the internet don't do it fuck'n justice.... it's unthinkably amazing in person.... photos are weak by comparison

Imagine looking at a giant wall 3,500 feet tall.... lit up at night.... and well over a mile wide..... there's nothing like it in life
