Nothing really different from the last one yet. The main floor is still tarped up. If you look into the windows you can see that the interior work is pretty close to done. The office lights are installed, looks like all the drywalling is done and most of the plumbing/hvac/etc.

Anyone know when this will happen?

@MattGrande No clue, but I've msgd them to find out (waiting on reply)

Anyone know what type of 'retail' we're expecting here? 9-5 Coffee Shop? Relocated Tims from Right House (much like it's future tenants)?

Did/is this sneak peak happening? I missed Doors Open completely for the first time in 3 years.

Lister reveal. Apparently she was entirely lit up inside last night – every window, every floor glowing white, Tyvek skirt gone. Finishing work must be rocking along. I have to imagine that such a display hasn't been witnessed in 30-some years. Historical Hamilton notes that "the building did remain largely occupied until the mid-1970s, with long-standing tenants like the Anne Foster Music Shop, but finally closed in 1995." So if nothing else, we're about to see the building awaken from a 16-year coma.

So is there any word on who's actually going to go into the Lister when it's opened?

I believe a major component is Public Health Services, currently leasing around 50,500 square feet of the Right House – pretty much everything but the ground floor.

And probably a Country Style in keeping with the city's heritage standards.

The city was to take on 60,000 square feet – though the total square footage has shrunk in the past. Not sure if the neighbouring Thomas building was included in the original projections.

Last I heard Tourism Hamilton will relocate and not sure but I think Community Services.

Public Health is slated to relocate to the proposed McMaster Primary Health Care Campus.

Hmmm. Not really sure why Tourism Hamilton needs AAA office space, but whatever. (Truthfully, I'm not really sure why Tourism Hamilton needs a $2.1m annual budget.)

The McMaster Primary Health Care Campus move certainly chimes with teh Right House lease, which expires at end of March 2013. Hopefully the Gore revival is in gear by then.

Don't you remember all the people who said this couldn't be done? They said the building was too far gone, too much rot and neglect, just tear the damn thing down already!

Like others, I do wish it was renovated for another purpose but things don't always work out the way you want in the Hammer. It'll have to do.
