First off, I'm a fan of hockey. I enjoy the sport. I'm not a fanboy of just one team (like you seem to be). You seem to have deillusions thinking that I'm angry with 2nd year of a rebuild of the Oilers. They are following the same path Washington, Pittsburgh and Chicago took. None of those teams made the playoffs in the first or second year of their rebuild. Look at them now.

If you think you have a great team built around the hackers, slashers, whiners and divers that you mention, enjoy that, that's not what hockey is about, at any level. You (or someone else recently on this thread) claim Vancouver is the "next Detroit" and that they are modelled after Detroit. Sorry. You don't have any where near the level of unsportsmanlike on the Red Wings that you do on the Canucks.

Big Jets win tonight making it the winningest month in franchise history, you see what a move to the wide open prairies can do to reenergize a club lol. January will be a real test as 9 of 13 are on the road.

Pretty lame New Years for me... Everybody trumpets how the Canucks are such divers. Here are the stats so far this year - Washington has 4 and Dallas has 2, Islanders, Rangers, Sens, Lightening, Wild, Preds, Coyotes, Flames, and Pens all have 1. The rest of the league has 0 diving penalties.

The Oilers have missed the playoffs for 5 years in a row and this year looks pretty grim so far. You're trying to tell me your happy with how things are progressing?

I wasn't so impressed with what happened following the pronger fiasco and the 3 years following that. Its only in the last 2 years that the oilers have started to rebuild. This team won't make the playoffs this year but is headed in the right direction to be a strong contender for years to come.
So your limited stats you have provide -- does this prove that the Sedins don't dive? Google two words. Sedins + dive

Get rid of Schenn, Phaneuf, and Gunnarssons useless lazy asses.

Leafs= league's best offense and league's worst defence.

I want to see the defence rebuilt completely. Forget about the playoffs.

I'll give credit to the Jets for solid defence but honestly the Leafs shouldn't have allowed one goal.

It looks like we blew another lead yesterday. The number is now 15 games where we couldn't defend a lead... We're so out of shape it's funny!!!

Anyway, AWESOME news today!!!
Quote:
The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenceman Josh Gorges to a six-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old defender will earn an average salary of $3.9 million per year over the six years of the deal.
Excellent signing!!!

Gorges has been our best D-man and is probably the future captain of the Montreal Canadiens.
He's so good he leads the league in blocked shots.

6 years is the longest contract the Habs have given in recent years... Plekanec's one was 6 yrs as well. Hopefully Price's one is about that length.

He, Emelin and Cole are the only positive things this season.

I forgot to congratulate Erik Cole on his 200th goal the other day.

He's on pace for 34 goals.
16 goals scored in 16 different games... one of the most consistent goal scorers this season.

We're 26th in the league so the tank will be better off without him.

How the fuck did the Canes let him go??? Seriously!!!

I'm a Kadri fan too, but he needs to play with his head too. His staying out so/too long cost them a goal. Not that it matteres in the end, but nevertheless.

Nice to see the PK working for a change.

Good win Leafs!

Gonna be fun to see 3 Canadian teams in the playoffs this year. And with Florida looking more and more likely to make it, Toronto will hold the fort with the longest active playoff drought to add to the longest active cup drought.

Damn Flames better keep losing; no way we're getting Yakupov when we beat the Canucks with our friggin backup.

Seeing as this is the first time this season that they've fallen below 8th (playoff) place, doesn't your conclusion utilize the same logic as those who thought that the Leafs were going to win the cup because of their performance earlier in the season? You know, the people you like to insult?

Like those part-time Leaf fans who started celebrating early in the season, your statement strikes me as terribly premature.

I personally agree! Even the Canadian teams I hate.

Freeweed's NHL however does not include Toronto.

Kadri was the reason I caught the Leafs Jets game amidst all the NFL action.

Personally, I consider the Leafs to be a pseudo-American team.

We're picking 4th overall as of right now... seeing Yakupov and Grigorenko play yesterday, I wouldn't mind to see the Jets win tonight.

No, I've been consistent with my opinion all along. It just took longer for the Leaves to tank this year. But they sure do look to be settling nicely into a 9th-11th place finish.
