Aurora is like Arlington, Texas (between Dallas and Fort Worth), it is just a suburb on steroids. Arlington has about 350,000 people but has no city-like qualities at all.

Uhh, no. Trey Parker was from Conifer and Matt Stone lived in Littleton, a suburb of Denver. Hmm, come to think of it, Littleton has a "downtown central core", why not the Denver-Littleton Twin Cities?

South Park was based off of the town of Fairplay, which is a small town in the moutains southwest of Denver. There actually is a REAL South Park 'town' south of Fairplay in the mountain basin with the same name, but it only has like 12 people there.

The similarities between Chicago and Milwaukee are understandable. But I think they can get along just fine without each other. Although I've thought of Milwaukee as a 'mini-Chicago' myself, I have certainly never had them in my mind as twins. Barely even siblings. That's like making Boston/Providence a pair - which in my mind share the same similarities between each other as Chicago/Milwaukee, but would never been "twin".

I think for cities to be "twin" is to think exactly of the word. They would be very close in size and just as much independent from each other as they are connected.
Minneapolis/St. Paul fits this perfectly.

Las Vegas-Paradise is something of a twin city but:

1) Nobody ever makes the distinction (except the census bureau).
2) Paradise (the Strip) is technically a township in unincorporated Clark County.

I guess it's kind of like Los Angeles/Century City in some respects: there's the natural downtown and a second central business district created by developers.

In the U.S. Fort Worth and Dallas or Minneapolis and St. Paul are the most logical choices for best twin cities.

Don't forget that, once the Chicago Spire is completed, there will be a direct line of sight from the top of Chicago's tallest building to the top of Milwaukee's tallest building. That means that the skyline of each city is visible from the other, if that doesn't mean we can consider them twins I don't know what does!

Also, the exchange between Milwaukee and Chicago is quite large, there is a lot of commuting and general population sharing. However, it is not to the extent at which they are one metro area. This combined with what Adiran mentioned about the layout of the cities being virtually identical, makes them probably the best and most twin cities...
