Hey, I just thought of something. Dubai is fairly close to Iraq. If we tone down the superlaser a bit, we'll be outta there in days!

oh my gosh. It just occurred to me. I really don't care if any of these things are built, and secretly, I DO want them to be built, just for the sake of being built. But they are only allowed to be built in Dubai. If all these crazy weird things are built, trust me, people will visit from all over the world to see them and experience them. Even I would like to see a rotating skyscraper and a mile high monstrosity and the worlds largest portrait and a building that looks like the death star or beetles mating or WHATEVER. It would be entertaining for sure.

however, just like the wisconsin dells, nobody will ever take dubai seriously. It'll be nothing but a touristy "world's largest ball of twine" city.

Again, there's nothing wrong with that. Just NIMBY ever, please

Uh-oh. You just gave someone there an idea - the world's tallest rotating waterskiing pyramid. But of course, it would have to be all-male. And contain a sundial...

Proof that Koolhaas is evil. We also know that he sucks but we don't need proof for that.

Since it's Dubai, it should be a super star destroyer:

hey, if they make an indoor ski resort, why not an all-male, roof-top waterskiing pyramid resort (with a sundial, of course)? Its the logical next step!

more renders from OMA

BTW, isn't this in the Ras-al-Khaimah Emirate, not in Dubai?

This is so kick-ass. How can you not love a Death Star crashed into the desert? They seriously have to make next GTA Dubai and model the city with all of these proposals completed.
