Ah, gotcha. Now I'm wrong and you're right. That is the 4 WTC

Wow, the 4WTC is getting pretty tall, don't you agree? I can't believe that the 4WTC is visible from THAT far already. A few months ago, I was just seeing vertical steel columns! Amazing.

Although, at this point it all looks like a jumbled mess of pixels and I'm still just making an educated guess, and that's sort of for another thread anyway.

Nonetheless, I look forward to 1 WTC passing 7 WTC soon.
This Is Very Exciting To See!!!! WOW!!!! They Are The Same Height Now.

Incredible photo of IWTC, 7WTC, Beekman, and Goldman Sachs all of which have almost completely consumed Woolworth

Which is a good thing IMO. Since the first time I saw Downtown skyline in '99, I always thought that Woolworth and Transportation Building to the south look lonely on the north fringe of Downtown. I always thought it would look better in a denser skyline context, similar to Trump Building and 70 Pine in the FiDi core. Sure Woolworth is a beauty, but it's had 98 years of spotlight, dominating everything around it. The original WTC towers framed the Woolworth in a nice way, and I think the views of the Woolworth juxtaposed against 1 and 2WTC will become a new classic New York photography angle.

I live about 20 minutes away from the city and would like to start photographing the World Trade Center site on a regular basis. I would love to share these photographs on this forum each time I shoot.

Can you guys please recommend some higher vantage points where I could photograph from? I would like to get many angles. From the ground, it's pretty self explanatory, but from ABOVE I'm clueless as to where to get some good angles.

Recommendations are HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks guys!!!
Hit up the hotels - WFC Marriott on West Street, Millenium Hilton on Church and W Hotel and Residences. Many of them have nice vantage points from above, and some of them are accessible to the general public

I photoshopped a recent under-construction shot so that we can have a better idea of what the finished skyscraper will look like.

(EDIT: This is the original image. Credit: Lofter1)

^Wonderful... but you keep forgetting to 'Shop-out the construction elevators on the East side. (And just to be picky... I would have put the sun-flare on the West side at the top, as that is where the ambient angle of the sun is coming from.)

12th row of glass going up today. With the snails pace of 58 and 59, the glaziers are going to surpass the steel at this rate. We'll have a hollow glass shell to the top, waiting on the the rest of the building to get built. LOL

Nice! Not to be a party pooper, but you have to cite the sources where you got the render and the original image from. Pasting links for both below the image would be enough.

Lecom: I've made the required change to my original post. Thanks.

There is no render to credit, I drew and edited the image in photoshop, no rendering took place.

Nice rendering Lawrence! I like how you added the reflection and shine on the top of the tower.

Now for some of my own:

The Grand Architect - Really impressive, I thought the first render was a photo!

Here's another image I've been messing around with tonight just for fun, I'd love it if the lighting scheme was the same as this.

^I was hoping for a nice tastefully done lighting scheme like that as well. The raised edge of the glass overlapping the stainless steel edges, is just begging for some soft LED lighting tucked under the edge and reflecting off the brushed steel.

Thanks, but I can't take all the credit. I must give credit to Google for the surrounding buildings and the sky.

By the way, Lawrence, that night rendering is great. Hopefully when the tower is finished, the actual shine from the antenna will be as bright as yours!

Nice! And apparently the spire will have its own power source for the light to shine during the otherwise completely blacked out city.
