New Street Jail by NimbyTect is designed to be very conservative: a c.1955 warehouse aesthetic meets a c.2005 Euro tower aesthetic.

New Street was the original name for Jarvis Street.

I like this aesthetic:

Which means New Street Jail is going to be locked up and given a brand new life.

Still working on that New Street Jail escapee.... Meanwhile, in prison I am seeing a doctor for help:

Dr Streetwall is trying to figure out where he's going to put the NimbyTect.

Maybe on a street corner near you?

Dr Streetwall scribbled something about brick.

Does it work?

Toronto 1st World Problems: holes in streetwalls. For example, on Adelaide Street West of Peter Street, south side:

Solution: NimbyTect's resident Dr Streetwall:

How tall are you?

I am still working on my dream home design. Today I'm thinking about a sort of rural or small village home--could be in Forest Hill Village or Baby Point as well :p

When you're suffering from a serious bout of designer's block, what would you do? Pull out the vinyl remixes from 2 decade's ago ... and paint the town red.

Still working on the exact shade/texture of red brick and more interior details, but Bay Street Bore brick remix may be on the move ...

Here's a 540 square foot one bedroom + den unit

Toss in some Sally Ann furniture

Pour a glass of wine

And celebrate the new year indoors...cheers.

What is a house party without a kitchen?

I'm designing a home from the inside out.

Nothing close to design, sadly. But I'm working on getting into the biz because I love it so much.

Here's a quick facade idea I've whipped up for One Bloor Street West: blonge (because it's the bling that meets yonge and bloor)

podium level pov

Here's a super quick massing idea for 2 Columbus Circle. It was going to be my entry into a May 2014 SSC competition--but I never found the time to complete it. In retrospect, it's very Foster + Partners ... a foreshadow of the design direction for One Bloor West?

New Street Jail actually reminds me a lot of this recent project in Halifax:

Yeah I can see that. However I've got a much bolder idea floating somewhere in my head--New Street Jail was just a quick first sketch. Who knows maybe I'll find some time to design it in more detail?

Channeling Foster+Partners, I think I may modify Yung & Blur to be bolder as well. What do you nimbies think?

5 minutes in sketchup just now and another dreary One Bloor West idea popped into my head: the dreaded balcony tower.
