Tower crane #2 is scheduled to go up by next weekend. I don't see the base installed yet.

So I have what might be a stupid question. If there is no plan to build a second tower in the future on the northwest corner of the block, then why dig that area? I may already know the answer but wanted to see if someone could chime in. Is it simply for an expanded parking garage underneath the plaza park?

The second tower would presumably use the same underground parking structure because the site of the second tower appears too small for a parking podium. It's probably more feasible to build the entire underground parking structure at the same time.

Passed by early this afternoon. There were crane sections lying at the north end of the site (bottom-center)

The core is now above grade, at least on the 6th Street side.

Hard to believe there was 10 story building still standing there less than 10 months ago.

I don't recall if the marketing flipbook was posted already. But here it is:

There are some new renderings - mostly interior views. This project will definitely have a strong presence.

I really wish they would cover the top or at least do a better job at obscuring the mechanical penthouse. Seems incomplete when they don't properly conceal. Aside from that, the tower will really make an impact on the skyline and will at least for a time be the most massive of the office towers. It also brings better height to an area of DT that really needs it. 6×Guad will also go a long way in shifting height further north.

Huh...that brochure pegs this tower as 554' tall (from the 6th Street entrance - south-facing façade). Anyone else see that?

That was the height listed in the original site plan and the design meeting docs. 555 feet was the original listed height. The most recent site plan has the 542 foot height listed.

I'd like to go back and check up on the site plans once they approve and release the site plan to see which elevations they post.

The tower site plan was approved last July, and 542' is the tallest height in the approved and released elevations.

Is that height taken from average grade, north elevation or south elevation? If I remember, there is a significant grade change from south to north.
