About a 1/3 of the way there in fact.
Does anyone know what the sales numbers are on the 4th tower(the Tides or Horizon?) I walked past the sales office in Society Hill an the poster had the Reef at 95% sold but no numbers on the other 2.

Seems like the tower under construction is going do smack right behind the existing tower - - - not exactly 'waterfront', but wonderful views if the Ben Franklin Bridge, which is just a magnificent structure.

You are right Johnland, in that it is right behind the other tower; but it is "waterfront" in that the it is out on a pier and the Delaware River will run up along side it in between this pier and the Trump pier.

Here is a diagram of the site:

The pic you replied on is kind of misleading. This pic will give you a better perspective:

Yeah, it isn't exactly picturesque, but it is still "water".

Ah, I see now how the site is arranged. Thanks WINXS. It is actually a really interesting site being so close to the water. I can see this project being a success. I still like the Ben Franklin too!

Excellent shots guys. And let me be the 27th person to say those towers would look much sharper without those concrete panels. Nice complex if it were all glass.

If it is not too late, I suggest these (WFS) be dug up and transplanted to the Camden side.

The first condo towers on the Waterfront, just pure ugly dung (opposed to pretty dung)....I'm done, these buildings make me sick

I bet you were excited back in 2003 when they first announced the proposals, when the only building in progress was the st james. Now that we saw the Cira Centre, Comcast Ctr, Murano, RARC and the Rittenhouse towers rised/rising and we suddenly become choosy. I give the WFS credit for being the pioneer to build in that industrial waste land, like others have said it is a work in progress. We should reserve our judgment until it is fully completed.

If we transplanted these buildings to Camden and traded them for the Riverfront Prison right across the river, People like you would be whining even more.

I passed the third one going up just yesterday. It is sprouting like a weed, going up at a nice pace i think. As for the look of the projects... I think they suffer from visual isolation more than anything.

Yea their designs are uninspired, but they arent so abysmal as some of the other buildings you see dotting the philadelphia cityscape.

I think when (if?) the other waterfront buildings and condos start popping up around it people will have much less of a problem with it as it will be one of many rather than all by itself. How quickly this happens is completely up in the air as most projects seemed to be semi permanently shelved in this market.

Ah well, if the casinos - or preferably the potentially revived World Trade Center get off the ground that may create enough momentum to get people going again!

Builditup, I agree with reserving final judgement untill this project is complete. An unfinished Project is always going to look unorthodox especially when only One Third of this project is completed. The Western side of the buildings (Facing I95) really arnt meant to be seen once the Tides and Horizon are complete (Whenever that may be). Im in the Minority here, but I think these towers will look great when theyre all built (whenever that may be)

As I've said before, they look out of place and would look better among other towers. They will also probably look better if/when the whole project is finished. They are ugly, however. Picture the Murano or RATR on the water. They would stand alone and they would still be beautiful.

The real question is which is uglier, Symphony House or Waterfront Square? I don't mind either but neither are really stunners.

Just my opinion, but phone numbers at the top are not "ghetto". I've seen several buildings in North Jersey and NYC use this same method of advertising. The phone numbers are visible and a great way to get people to associate a contact number with an actual building. Now an even better idea would be a web address. Pehaps these posted phone numbers will be removed once the buildings have been completed and the units sold. The top would look better without the number posted, but I don't think it would still be up there if people were not calling.

As far as looks, these buildings are far from pretty at this stage. Perhaps they'll look better when they're all done.
