I was just going to say the same thing. "so and so was here - 1976" I can't remember if the 86th floor looked like that when I was there, either. Maybe they'll get some money out of me this summer after all.

^ Probably just not visible in the photos, but I don't recall seeing a lot of scratched up windows (see #93 below). I do know that they have painted over a lot of the fraffiti that was inside the building.

Smile Empire state building drawing!

hey i am 16 years old and drawing buidlings is my passion.
i started working on the ESB drawing since 8th grade, but i am not finished yet because i started working on the Downtown New York drawing.
heres the Empire State Building and midtown

Wow, you two were in exactly the same spot! Nice photos by each of you. Cool how the sky and camera exposure looks completely different on a clear vs. cloudy day.

Yeah, it's crazy that the angle is identical. And yes, the lighting was changing all the time yesterday. I have pictures taken 2 minutes apart that look like they are from different days.

Tonight they left the green flood lights on, its 6:30AM here and there still on, awesome! Normally the lights are shut off @ 2AM

Does anybody know whats the purpose of that yellow circular light, that lights up on the spire during the after hours? even though the flood lights are on this yellow light is on too.
