Anyone notice the setback is finally under construction in those two pics above? 8 floors above that point is where the observation deck will be.

And there're gonna be a lot of people whose jaws are gonna drop to the ground when the aforementioned ob deck is added.

They'll be expcting yet another within-the-box mammoth supertall...then hell-o.

I notice that it's passed 10 Hudson Yards, which I suppose means it's approaching 1,000 feet.

It's past that now.

You know, I wasn't a big fan of this project at first, but now that I see it in real life, in its real context, it's something different. Rendering glass and real glass look quite different, and the real sunlight reflecting off it has the same effect. I actually quite like these buildings now.

On a different note, anyone know why glass changes color like in the previous post? Comcast Center here in Philly does that as well.

Mostly has to do with reflection of the sky. I was looking at the Coach tower a few days ago because it was the bluest glass I have ever seen, but it was a reflection of the sky,
magnified somehow through the glass.

Anyway, I'm looking up every day now because we are nearing the most exciting part of this tower, the observation deck...

That's the spire that would help it beat Vandy, holding on to its position as second tallest office building in New York, and 3rd in the country. It beats Vandy by 8 ft without spires. We'll see just which one has the best observation deck eventually.

It's been that, but the 13 ft won't make much of a difference on the skyline.

This is a super cool development. I have one question though; what the heck are those hive-shaped staircases for?
