I look to st paul mn building this $200 million gem for their MLS club https://www.mnufc.com/stadium
just 8 hours south from here in Winnipeg and you can argue that the twin cities might just have the finest overall facilities in all of north america when you have u.s bank stadium for the Vikings, xcel energy center for the wild, target field for the twins, tcf bank stadium for the uofm gophers and now the new MLS stadium.

No. Just no. Commonwealth is just as bad as the Olympic Stadium and there are a number of other venues in Canada that are infinitely better, although not offering the proper capacity. Of the 3 in our bid only BMO is the only real soccer stadium and BC Place, TD Place, Mosaic and Investors are all much more suited for this purpose than Commonwealth.

Some things you may want to include in your content:

- a particular focus on Canadian stadiums.
- talking to fans there to get a feel for the crowd's vibe.
- coverage of fun things to do at the stadium and places to hang out (other than just watching the game).
- food reviews at the stadium.
- a standardized rating system so we can compare stadiums with each other (e.g. atmosphere 7/10, visibility of field 8/10, food 4/10, convenient location 8/10, hotness of crowd 2/10, comfortable seats 6/10).

I would also go beyond the stadium and review drinking establishments and other gameday events within the area of the stadium. I personally always look at ratings and information on what is happening within establishments or areas around the sports venue when I visit a new stadium or city and sometimes that info is difficult to find.

Actually, this concept exists. I've been flowing Stadium journey for a while, which is American-centric but there are a couple of good Canadian authors.

The soccer stadium in St Paul looks great but $200 million US for 19,000 seats is rather steep don't you think? The soccer stadium is near the site of the former Midway stadium home of the St Paul Saints baseball club who play in the American Association of Independant baseball ( AA baseball , Winnipeg Goldeyes in their division ) they moved to CHS Field a 9,000 seat 20 million baseball park at the eastern edge of St Pauls downtown . I agree that the Twin Cities has the nicest facilities of any city in North America . The Target Center where the Timberwolves play is older but just had a $100 million renovation that has brought up it to more of the newer NBA arenas .

There seems to be a number of different figures floating around.

• The original MLS release from 2015 lists the stadium at $120M.
• The PSAM Magazine listed it at $150M (page 115).
• The concrete company listing for the stadium lists it at $200M.
• The funding page on MNUFC's site lists the stadium at $150M.

Your choice of wording (steep) was accurate though, as the grade of the seating ranges from 33 degrees to 35 degrees at its upper limit. It's a tremendous looking stadium regardless of what the final price point ends up being.

It is a beautiful stadium and I've been to the Twin Cities 3 times in the last 9 months and didn't check it out, next time I make the the 6hr 20 min drive ( I drive fast ) maybe for the Jets / Wild playoffs I will definitely check it out !

Nice looking park... depending on how the finished product looks, it just might displace the one in Houston as my favourite MLS-specific stadium. It's hard to argue with the notion that the Twin Cities have the most impressive set of pro sports venues in the US.

Love Stadium journey! Like I said they are more website based where I will be more social media and video based.

Thanks for the suggestions Guys I will definitely be looking into the the pre/post game experience surrounding the Venue itself Really excited to get started

Nothing was wrong with Moncton's bid.

Halifax is a bigger market with a better team and haven't hosted in nearly 20 years compared to Moncton's ~12. Halifax's team next year is likely going to roll through the Q quite easily.

I agree completely.

I'm a big Moncton booster, but even I think it was more appropriate for Halifax to win this particular bid.

- This is the Moosehead's 25th anniversary year.
- They will have a better team than Moncton next year
- They haven't held the Memorial Cup for 20 years (vs 12 years for Moncton).

The only thing that concerns me is that it could be some time before we get this chance again. Saint John has never held the Memorial Cup. Gatineau is getting a new arena. Quebec City will likely want to host sometime soon too.

Given that the Q only gets to hold the tournament every three years, it could be 2031 before Moncton gets another chance.........

Blue Jays game moved to Tuesday after ice falls on Rogers Centre

TORONTO – Unsafe roof conditions caused by falling ice from the CN Tower on Monday caused the second postponement in Rogers Centre’s history, with the Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals set to play a doubleheader starting at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday.

The decision was made after workers climbed the roof amid ongoing rain to patch holes caused by the debris. Pitchers from both clubs took to the field afterwards to get some throwing in.

Three tarp mats were set up beneath one hole in right field while five other covers of varying sizes were placed along the edge of the infield where the shortstop typically plays and into short left. There were no holes in the roof visible above those areas.

The only previous postponement in dome history came April 12, 2001, also with the Royals in town, when two roof panels collided, causing a hole and sending pieces of sheet metal and insulation down to the turf.

The Blue Jays had hoped a return to their domed stadium would provide a respite from the relentless storms that led to a pair of postponements in Cleveland over the weekend.

Earlier Monday, the Blue Jays said they were working with the CN Tower and Toronto police to assess whether a game could be played safely.

Outside the dome, police cordoned off pedestrian areas around the CN Tower with yellow caution tape and posted signs warning of falling ice.
