January 23rd was a glorious day in Seattle. Took a walk, and
another ferry ride.
Started out dt in the financial district. Walked by the new
5th & Madison condo. Some people were moving in already.
Decided to head up to the top of Columbia Center, our tallest.
If you're ever around there you must check out the views. It's
open Mon-Fri from 9-5pm and its only $5.
Lake Washington, Bellevue and the Cascade Mountains
The Olympic Mountains
From there I left Colubmia Center, hopped on a metro bus(free within dt)
on 4th Ave. down to 3rd & Pike. Hopped on a #2 bus and got off on
Queen Ann Hill.
Walked down Highland Drive. One of Seattle's most beautiful streets imo.
Spring is just around the corner.
View Park at the end of Highland
What a view
Walked back out to Queen Ann Ave. Didn't show you but QAA is a
great street with lots of amenities like restaurants, coffee shops,
a great bookstore, hair salons and boutiques.
Jumped on the #2 down the hill on my way back dt to Pike Place Market.
Met up w/some friends and had lunch at Lowell's at Pike Place.
Tom Hanks filmed a scene here from the Sleepless in Seattle movie.
After lunch I thought hey what about another ferry ride. So we
dashed out of Pike Place heading to the waterfront to catch the
3pm ferry to Bainbridge. Walking to the ferry terminal I took these.
1521 2nd Avenue condo under construction.
Ok, so I know the weather is going to be gorgeous this coming weekend for all of you up there in the Pacific Northwest, with sunshine & 50's forecast. I'm hoping anyone with a digital camera will head out and do a nice extensive tour of Capital Hill and/or the University district. Please!
(I have to live vicariously through you all since we've been getting nothing but sucky weather for the past month)
