There were soo many more even 5 or 10 years ago. Its crazy how quickly we are whittling them away. I just hope that they are developed in a dense manner with retail to facilitate pedestrian activity. The stretch of Wabash south of Jackson can feel sparse, although I suppose that's because currently its more parking lot and building fronting the street.

And what by chance would these activist citizens want instead for this site, located smack in the commercial core of the city? Keeping the muddy, garbage strewn lot as it is?

The green and blue glass looks a bit goofy I'll admit, but I think it will play well at that intersection once its complete, contrasting well with the beige concrete, red brick and white terra cotta of the buildings in the immediate vicinity.
That's my hope at least.
