From www.elpais.com:

http://www.elpais.com/graficos/espan...pepunac_1/Ges/

It's all in spanish but has an interesting diagram of not only the towers in relation to its neighbors, but also a diagram of the underground infrastructure that has been and will be added.

People are already moving into the Espacio tower. All the top floors have been occupied by:

Canadian Embassy

Australian Embassy

British Embassy

Company Villar Mir

Posh Restaurant

hmmm, randomly:

Freedom Tower reference has been going around for a while, but I never noticed the BofA touch to it. Good catch.

OPERACION CHAMARTIN JUST APROVED

This includes building 15 skyscrapers in the area north of CTBA, building between starting in 2010 and lasting 10 years, it will be one of the biggest construction sites in Europe. This project has been on the table for 15 years and had finally been aproved, a partial reason sais the mayor of Madrid, "is to get that sector out of the crisis" It will cost 10953 M Euro, provide 16000 homes and provide construction work for 20000 people.

The exact designs are not out yet, but they say one will be larger than CTBA, 7 over 200m and the rest around 150m. Looks like we´ll finally get a real skyline.

ALSO:

The giant cheese is already under contruction (digging, anyways)

and the giant toothpick between the kio towers is 30m out of its 90m high.

(fake pic)

I hate the giant cheese.
I'm also surprised by the lack of density.
Hopefully, the tall one will be really tall and nice.

Yes, I too wouldve prefered all of them clustered together.

But I expect in the long run, the gap between the 2 smaller clusters will be filled by more, as now they have old small hosuing.

Heres another great render produced by "Fersky y Renovatio" presented in the www.urbanity.es/foro spanish srchitecture forum.

It gives a better idea of how the towers will be distributed, theres a reasonable cluster around the CTBAs.

This is the current distribution of number of floors:

1 X 55 floors
3 X 40
4 X 35
3 X 30
1 X 25
2 X 22
1 X 20

3 X- to be decided

I still think we should have one monster scraper 400m+, to become the symbol of Madrid, but we´ll have to wait and see
