Maybe you should do the same. Apparently it'll surprise you.

My grandparents were farmers. Animals were killed quickly. No slitting their throats and hanging them to bleed out while still alive.

No they struck the cattle and pigs on the head with a sledge hammer killing them instantly. Then hung them to bleed. For generations humans have tried very hard to kill food animals humanely.

But some cultures make animals suffer on purpose. Some countries are banning this practice.

Severing the carotid cuts off circulation to the brain right away. The animal would immediately lose consciousness. It's just like when someone has a cardiac arrest and loses consciousness immediately.

All this talk is starting to almost make me sick as I sit here eating my steak, eggs and bacon sandwich.

So you don't think stunning an animal before slitting its throat isn't a better alternative to just slitting its throat?

PS Watch No Country For Old Men to see how effective a CO2 stunner is!

^ It's pretty clear that "mainstream" livestock farms and meat processors aren't exactly committed to humane and ethical treatment of animals across the board. Anyone really that concerned about Halal products but who still eats meat strikes me as someone just looking for a convenient excuse to slam Muslims.

No goof, we've developed methods and standards in western society to minimize animal cruelty, but let's throw all that out the window to be more accepting and diverse!

If Breitbart or Stormfront or the PQ claim it, it must be true!

(When you look into it, you find that there's actually very little if any difference between halal and non-halal killing of animals beyond someone praying over them first. Our animal cruelty standards still apply.)
