If the Leafs get hot, they can still make the playoffs!

If they don't get it done this week however, the season is over.

While all games are important, it isn't quite that urgent.

Congrats to Luongo who will become the 23th goalie in NHL history to play 700 games and the 5th youngest to reach that mark.

of note to canucks fans:
-luongo got most overrated (but with only 6% of that vote)
-stephane auger was voted worst ref
-rypien was voted second best fighter (this was in early 2010) and called "toughest in the nhl"
-a third of the votes went to canucks fans as smartest in the league, the highest amount

Lars Eller!!! Thank you Halak.

First Hab to score 4 goals in a game since Jan Bulis in 2006.
First Hab to record to 5 pts in a game since Alex Tanguay in 2009.

And the pass by Kostitsyn on his 3th goal is an "assist of the year" condidate.

If only we didn't blow leads!!!

Bizarre stat: 5 teams are tied for the league lead with 11 players at 15+ pts ... Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Montreal
Lars Eller becomes the youngest player to score 4 goals in a game since Ovechkin.

Some fans have... strange ways of celebrating a hat trick...

Good on the Habs.

Jets played so sloppy relative to their last few wins. Sloppy play is gonna give the game away. They gotta learn how to win on the road.

Calgary 0 Boston 9. Butler was a -7 to tie the NHL record. Awesome.

The Flames losing 9 - 0 is actually a stunningly accurate depiction of how far this team is from contending for a championship.

The Bruins will eventually play a team that has a good goaltender.

They have yet to play the Rangers and Lundqvist.

They could only score 7 goals in 4 games on Price (and we have scored 7 on Thomas/Rask + 1 empty netter).

Will be interesting to see how they fair against the nuks tomorrow night. Both teams have been riding high, but we all know about Bobby Lu's tendencies while playing in the garden.

Since November 1, Boston has won games:
7-0
6-0
6-0
8-0
9-0

That's incredable. I don't think any other team in the league has come close to this.

Or in his home building. The only difference is, if he lets in 4 tonight while his teammates score 0, there probably won't be a riot in Boston.

And wow, do the Flames suck. I didn't see any of the game (Juniors!) but I don't think I needed to.

I don't think a team has been so poised to repeat a Cup in.. longer than I can remember. Detroit maybe.

However if they keep this up (they're something like 22-3-1 recently) they will be so over-confident that I could easily see a 1st round upset by some dark horse like Winnipeg. Detroit had this happen more than once.

The difference is, Boston seems to be able to up their intensity for meaningless games against weak opponents. Those Detroit teams always played well, but Boston is playing well with an intense passion, to boot.

I think it will take a very good team playing excellent hockey to upset this Bruins team. I don't think a "dark horse" upset is in the cards.

It was a fairly packed house when I was there for the game against Minnesota.
