What's a guy to do when your city has the worst air quality on earth?

Schools are closed tomorrow, all sensitive groups should stay inside, it looks like fog but it smells like well, a camp fire-no pun intended, oh and SF normal AQI is between 10-25

Holy crap. I remember the wildfires here in 2011 brought in smoke that you could see and smell, but nothing quite like that. It definitely bugged me, though, being that I have asthma.

274 is bad, but we used to get to that number at least a dozen times every winter in Shanghai. I'll always remember when Shanghai reached 600 in December 2013, and everyone lost their collective shit. It was the only time the state-owned press turn on the government demanding change. Beijing reached 1000 that day.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that it sucks, but you will survive.

This isn't true, Bay Area usually has bad air quality.

Do you ever have a clue what you are talking about? If by the "Bay Area" you mean the Central Valley or perhaps even the South Bay (in spots), you might be sort of right about the air if wrong about the geography, but the central Bay Area--Oakland and especially SF--normally has some of the cleanest air in North America because the prevailing west wind blows all the pollution eastward into the Central Valley leaving the local air pristine.

The problem recently has been an unusual "blocking high" pressure system which has both kept it from raining in what should be the early part of the rainy season, thereby encouraging fires, but also shifting the wind patterns in the Bay Area so that the wind comes from the east and not, as usual, from the west.
