Townhomes under construction across the street from the Riverwalk apartments. The warehouse covered in ivy is gone.

What a long, strange trip it's been. See this GroJLart piece from 4 years ago:

Does anyone have a rendering of the new townhomes slated for the old Cresswell Factory spot?

The Met opens 12/3 with Bob Dylan. I may actually have to go see that.

The Met is freaking awesome. It makes me so happy to see historic buildings repaired and revitalized.

Had a chance to check out the Bourse today, this place is really going to be a hit, just what Philly needed. Was at a place just like it in Europe recently, had the exact same vibe, hopefully they draw a big after work crowd. Opens Monday....

I forgot to mention this, and I'll certainly try to take pictures when I get back from Virginia, but the level of development occurring in the southernmost section of Templetown--between Broad, Ridge, Girard, and Master--is truly incredible. I graduated from Temple back in May, and certain blocks have been completely transformed with new homes when I visited the neighborhood about a week ago. Much of the new housing doesn't appear to be marketed towards students either! The aforementioned boundaries are neither majority student-dominated or resident-dominated, so I've always viewed this sliver of Templetown as an opportunity to build housing for young professionals increasingly being priced out of Francisville, Brewerytown, and and even Fairmount.

What's the next major historic building due to be restored?

Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company Building? Family Court Building?

Although neither is crumbling or severely blighted as these other buildings were. Is there another building I'm forgetting about in need of some love? What about that row of buildings on Front Street between Market and Chestnut?

Thank God. It was originally supposed to open in the Spring, then it got pushed pack to July 4, then pushed back further...

Family Court Building! It is supposedly back on track and it's a beauty: http://www2.philly.com/philly/busine...-20180709.html Haven't heard anything further in recent weeks, though. They are still short on funds but not by that much anymore. I hope they can get it off the ground soon.

Not sure if it counts as historic but has anybody heard any news about the Post Brothers battle with the zba on the Quaker Warehouse building?

The Provident Mutual Life Insurance Building is set to become a center for public health:

I believe they got the go ahead on that. EDIT: Indeed they prevailed in court at the end of last year.

Judge clears Post Bros.'s N. Philly warehouse-to-apartment rehab, reversing zoning board decision | Philly.com

Attorneys for Post Bros., led by Ronald Patterson, argued in their appeal of the ZBA's ruling that the developer's plan for the building in the Poplar neighborhood is consistent with the residential uses that surround it and that the zoning board has routinely awarded variances for similar proposals around the city.
"The ZBA's decision was contrary to the law and in conflict with the unanimous support of community groups and area residents," the lawyers wrote.

Building at 38th & Chestnut, home to cheesesteaks and strip club, may soon be sold

https://www.thedp.com/article/2018/0...ion-upenn-penn

The DP with the scoop. This would be an ideal spot for a luxury residential tower or high-rise hotel.

Couldn't agree with more with either option, but I think mix-use would be even better. Hopefully, mix-used bldg nets more height than either options alone.
